Gentrispot, Inc. was founded in 2019. The purpose of Gentrispot is to inform the world on the many effects of gentrification in different hoods through film creation. Through film creation, the impact will teach communities through the lenses and eyes of residents.
Gentrispot, Inc. was driven by the purpose to voice concerns regarding the advantages and disadvantages of gentrification. Neighborhoods are being transitioned rapidly while families are being displaced as a result of the rising property taxes surrounding their homes. Many residents have been residing in their homes for decades and are forced to relocate as a result of the businesses developers bring to the neighborhood.
We are also aiming to bridge the gap of zero communication between developers, builders and the community. For residents who are not knowledgable of the changes in their neighborhoods, we developed neighborhood focus groups that serve as a safe place for residents to come and learn about the revitalization in their neighborhoods.
